    the jist of it is..you can install linux on your ipod. Then you can install all sorts of games and such on it. AND still play music with the Ipod quality.

    Ive actually seen a ipod with this on it, kid next to me in class was playing some games. Really cool idea.

    It's IPod's sneaky answer to the PSP. They 'leaked' homebrew application ;)

      If you have a first or second generation, then doing that is easy.....for mini owners, its a bit "Advanced Linux" but can be done.

      Now I'm sitting here looking at my iPod and going "hmm........" :row__577:

                If you bring out the serial port, you can use the iPod as a data collector!

                (I'm not a big music person, but I'm a data packrat and do automation for a living. And I'm working on building a small-scale weather station.)

                Using a full-sized computer to collect data from remote sensors is space- and power-hungry. Another platform commonly used for this kind of thing is the Linksys WRT54GL router, which runs Linux inside.

                  when they have some good testing on 5G ipod video units, i'm definately going to have to try it out on mine.
