A friend of mine raved for weeks about how good that game was going to be, then he got it and I don't think he played it for more than 2 days. I can't remember his comments exactly, but he was disappointed.

That's all I've got for ya.

Its from lionhead studios, which have released a few piss poor games recently. I dont know anything about the movies specifically, but the developer sucks.

I played it (sister bought it)

There are interesting bits, but it comes down to being a micromanagement simulation of your actors, their moods, their habits, etc. Not really worth $50 IMO, Maybe a decent pickup when it hits the bargain bins.

Re: " The Movies " PC Game

I have the Movies. It's kinda clever, I guess. It's pretty much a standard "empire building" game, with a Movie Studio theme. If you liked the Sims, you should like the Movies.

I don't mind the game; but I loaned it to a friend like a month ago, and haven't thought much about it since.

                  Hope that helps.

I like it, for what it's worth. There are some things I wish it had (more variable pacing, the ability to do more things from the full map), but as a godsim, it's pretty decent. There's a fair amount of micromanagement, but normally I didn't mind it, as it worked into the game pretty well (that is to say, needing to micromanage one thing didn't cause everything else to go to hell).
