  • Game port problem?

Has anyone ever seen this and know how to resolve it?

Standard Game Port's status in device mgr:

"This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)

If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system."

I'm trying to hook up a joystick to the sound card. It used to work?

XP home, Muse 5.1 sound card.

    Thanks!

Try switching the sound card to another PCI slot. There may be a problem accessing IRQ's.

What's the joystick? Maybe this problem is specific to the joystick.

Thanks Sarc. I tried switching slotsm, but that didn't help. The joystick is an old Thrustmaster Mark II FCS.

Did someone move this post? I had it in HW discussion b/c I thought that forum is for troubleshooting hardware. This has nothing to do with connecting to a tg service.

I guess someone did move it...

I have no other suggestions about it not working. What's the entire procedure of hooking the thing up? I would probably do it like this:

          1. Connect the joystick.
          2. Turn on computer.
          3. Control Panel, Game Controllers.
          4. Add...
          5. Thrustmaster FCS or even try another similar device.

Do you have a gameport on your motherboard? That might work.
