  • Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 opinions?

Anyone have / listened to the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 system? I've drooled at their specs and such for years, knowing that Klipsch makes pretty top notch products. They're on sale this week at Best Buy for $100 - $50+ off their normal price.

They've been out for several years now, which leads me to believe that a new system may be around the corner, but every single review I've read of them leads me to believe they are top notch. Don't need 4.1 or 5.1 or whatever -- the extra speakers wouldn't get proper placement around my computer.

    I have those. Very nice.

Headphones are better for gaming but for porn I mean movies or music they're great. Across the room stuff.

Seriously, they're way better than any other computer speakers I've come across. Way. Better.

Klipsch used to be the absolute #1 in terms of PC speakers for dvd's/movies etc. For gamimg purposes there are some slightly better systems that have come along of late, but in terms of pure audio quality in speakers designed for use by PC's, Klipsch is god.

I dunno about PC speakers, but for home audio speakers, I had a roommate once that had some Klipsch towers and they impressed me. I'm not easily impressed when it comes to stereo equipment.

I have promedia 4.1's that I've had for about 8 years now.

They rock my shorts off on a pretty consistent basis.

I have that 2.1 system. Yes, it's been out a long time - and I've been using them for a few years. They've held up well, and still sound good.

Yea, I have a bit of experience w/ Klipsch stuff. Mom had Klipsch in-wall speakers put in her living room and bedroom when she had her condo built 7 years ago. Nice big sub over in the corner too. It all sounds pretty good when you crank up a DVD! Like I said, everything I've read about the ProMedia sets has been great, just wanted a couple first hand opinions. Thanks :)

I have some nice Sony headphones that I originally bought for gaming, but they've been gathering dust since I found TG and use a monaural headset w/ just the mic plugged in all the time. Can't bring myself to spend another $100 on headphones just to get a mic attached (and I wouldn't be happy w/ cheaper headphones...).

Now, just to keep myself away from the Best Buy that's walking distance away ;)

I have had them for a couple of years and they are very good.

One really nice thing about them is that I can take them outside, hook up my MP3 player and blast away.

                  Re: Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 opinions?

I have had a set of 4.1 s for years, I haven't heard any that compare.
And I have looked at them all.

The only ones that I would reccomend over them are the Bose 2.1, these one are amazing, I cannot believe the sound that come out of the Bose. But they are like $200.00 US I believe.

I have one of the early sets of Klipsch, the ones with the pots that crackle, if you are buying used ones make sure they are not these ones.

To back them up I have a set of Koss studio quality headphones. Model R/200. Unforeantley they are in need of repair at this time, but highly recommended.
So right now I am usinga set of Koss CS-95 microphone headphones.

Own them, Love them. Have it hooked up to my media center for movie watching and TV capture. THe sound is fantastic, the sub can shake the floor, little to no distortion.

I bought em last night and picked up em in the store today.. Wow. Night and day difference compared to my poor little Logitechs. I've only played a couple rounds of BF2 with em, but I'm already quite happy with my purchase.

I have gone through many Logitechs on my wifes computer, ya they cannot compare. A good sound card is a must with them also, I used to have a Aureal Vortex2 card that sounded outstanding, but is no longer supported by my OS.
Looking at one of the Audigy 2's now, probally the one with the remote.
Do yourself a favour and try some music with them, remember to adjust your sub woofer accordingly, bass is usually way up for games and turned down lower for music.

Glad to hear you got a set, I consider them the best thing I never purchased for my comp, too bad I live in an apartment now and cannot crank mine up, lol.
