  • Free HD partitioning software

I'm looking for some free software that has similar functionality as Norton PartitionMagic -- repartitioning my hard drive w/o reformatting. My laptop is running WinXP, but I need to reinstall Ubuntu or Gentoo on a new partition for some linux functionality (liveCD is insufficient).

Can any of yall recommend me some software? Thanks in advance.

Ubuntu has "partman" which is supposed to be able to resize partitions, including NTFS. It's probably on their LiveCD.

There's also GNU parted, but it can't do NTFS resizing..

Kanotix, Mandriva, and Knoppix can all resize an NTFS partition.
