  • PSU just went Bang!!!

Well my good old Antec Silent 380 went pop last week on my 2nd system. I am now considering three options on a replacement.

1.Enermax Liberty 620W ATX2.2 Modular SLI Compliant PSU.
2.Tagan TG600-U25 600W ATX2.0 Dual Engine Silent SLi Compliant Silent.
    3. Seasonic S12 600W Silent ATX2.0 Power Supply

Any1 got one of these already?

Im very interested in the Enermax but never had one. I really want a quiet PSU as i cant stand fan noise.

    It's for the below spec.

    Abit AN8 Ultra
    AMD 3000+ Venice ( o/c to 2.6ghz ) + Arctic Cooler 64
    GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC4000 Dual Channel Kit
Seagate Barracuda Sata 200GB x2 Hard Drives
    MSI NX 6800 Ultra

For all things quiet, I defer to SPCR.

I think the Seasonic would make a fine choice.

Phaze, you may want to take a look at the pc power & cooling Silencer 750. I own one and love it.

pcp&c PSU's are far and away the best pSU's on the market, particularily in terms of raw power and overclockability. They are also far and away the most expensive PSU's on the market ;) Still love them though.

I've heard good things about both Enermax and Seasonic, but have never used either personally. I'd probably lean towards the enermax myself.

          The silencer 750 makes my 3rd pcp&c. I'm just a upgrade nut.

I own the Enermax Liberty and Noisetaker II. I'd recommend either one. When I shut down the PC the Noisetaker spins for an extra 2 minutes after everything else shuts off. I can barely, barely hear it at all from 3 feet away. While my computer is on, the 2X120mm exhaust fans make 5x the racket the psu ever does. The Liberty is just as quiet. It has a 120mm fan as well, but is quiter then most 120mm case fans. If you want to go crazy with it. You may want to search for a fanless PSU, but I belive you have to have great airflow in your computer case to use those.

Well after being unsure what to buy i found myself with a bit of luck. A friend of mine in the PC business rang me up and offered me an Tagan 500W for free. It was being pulled out of a dead machine. Put it in this morning and it runs like a dream, very quiet and machine stable. Seems to have more beef than my old Antec as my O/C runs now at 2.6 @ 1.4v stable while before i had to push the Vcore to 1.5v.

Saved me a few bucks so im now going to buy a new FX card.

                Lifes good.

                Now back to PCS. 'Yey'.
