  • Logitech MX Revolution

I was fiddling with one of these in a store yesterday, and it's pretty sexy - a nice weight in your paw, incredibly comfortable to hold as it gently nestles your thumb.

However, from the reviews I've seen it seems like it's mostly a sexy mouse with a bunch of features you'll never really need. I was most drawn to the application switching and zooming since I'm a graphic design person and that'd be useful when I'm working, but at only* 800dpi I'm wondering if I should just get a G5 or G7 since a super-high resolution would surely be nice when I'm working, and be a treat when I'm playing.

    Opinions?

I currently have a razer diamondback shown here:

It's not wireless so I'm not sure if that'll be a factor, but so far it's been real good to me. But I also have the G7 which was also pretty darn good. It's wireless and I didn't really have a problem with it except for having to swap out the batteries at least once a day between playing games and surfing etc. I bought the razer primarily for the price, I think like $24.99 on woot.com a few weeks back.

FYI, PS/2 refreshes 200 times a second in WinXP, while USB only 125 times a second.

Both of which are much faster than the signal path between my brain and my hand, so they are insignificant to my gaming. :p
