Ugh, I lost my BF2 play disk somewhere between living at home and moving back to school. I can't find it anywhere. I have all my other install CDs, my serial, but I can't play the damn game. One option I have is gamecopyworld, and downloading a crack to play without the CD (of course Id back up the .exe file and have to do lots of file swapping for patches). Anyone have any other ideas besides going out and buying, ugh, another copy?

BF2 mini-image... DO NOT download a no-exe crack unless you want Punkbuster coming after you.

I use gamedrive just so I don't rely on the actual disc.

I think perry meant to get the disc image some where and run it as a virtual drive. Since you said you still have the serial, you can use any game disc (or image) to install and run, no? I do believe in the BF2 forum there was a discussion once upon a time about how to use the mini-image to run the game, and that nifty search function will find it for you.

That is correct. If you have an install of BF2 on your HD f the game but only miss the CD a miniimage will work. However I have noticed increased CTD(crash to desktops) using this solution.

Is a mini image the same as a disk image?

Not quite. A miniimage contains only the files that the copyprotection system looks for.
