  • Network controller problem

Well appearntly my motherboard's network adapter won't start. I've tried stopping and starting it, uninstalling and installing the drivers, looked all over for tech support but I can't figure out the problem. Under device manager the network adapter just has a little error message that says This device cannot start. (Code 10).

    I have a NVIDIA nForce4 K8N Neo4-F made by MSI.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Re: Network controller problem

MS just says to update the drivers.. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310123/en-us

Tried reinstalling the nforce software? Using administrator account?

Maybe try disabling the device in the BIOS, booting, shutting down, re-enabling, and booting again?

Maybe try the registry fix on this page?

Of course..you probably thought of it already but...purchasing a nic card for 20 bucks might be a workaround

          Ooo...

I think I had a similar error on an old laptop, the wireless card all of a sudden decided to stop working and the Code 10 error came up when I looked at it. Couldn't find any solution for it on the web and eventually gave up.

            Re: Network controller problem

I have noticed that my ethernet controller doesn't like to work sometimes when i'm installing drivers. It does eventually start working again but i have no idea what causes it. Typically have to uninstall and reinstall the drivers a few times. Also the built in firewall it definately doesn't like.
