    That's a nice rig.

Hmm... Might alter it and buy me one of my own...

(There's an awesome liquid cooling kit that does GPU and CPU there at newegg for 72 bucks, that'd be the only change)

                I just built a 600$ computer that had a dual core P4 805, 512 ram, 80gig sata, DVDRW, black LCD/keyboard/mouse, winxp home oem, and a Hanns-G 19" widescreen 1440x900 LCD.

                Powmax case and PS

                total 528.00

the computer and onboard video, but it was incompatible with the 1440x900, so I added a GeForce 5200 128meg video. (can be had for 25 or so, I had one laying around

I also had the 80gig sata, but those are also cheap @ about 45.00

Speakers are built into the LCD, and a black keyboard and mouse combo can be found @ biglots for 10.00

                total cost: 605.

that looks like a nice comp, but I'd want a bigger hard drive, especially if you're a gamer who has 11 gigs+ music on their comp, like me :D

Re: Budget PC: $600 USD, what can you built?

I built a budget computer too based on the 805d. It does require Overclocking knowledge.

Heres my list from newegg with todays prices. This isnt just a bargain rig. when oveclocked with dual cores this is a superb rig which will run bf2 at 40fps at all high setting. It will encode video in 25% time. It is running two cores at 3750 on air cooling at moderate temperatures and is near silent. if you take a look at the mail in rebates it will get you in closer to 600$ You can also save a few dollars and get an OCZ ddr2 but I put Corsair here because it really is worth the extra 60$

but theres no monitor, case, or power supply... The rig is awesome for a budget upgrade. The video and memory really up the price, but they are massive upgrades from what I priced.
