  • Gigabyte 965P-DS3 - New Bios

I know a few of you out there have this board (or it's S3 equivalent)

There is a new bios F11b available. Mostly to support the new E6320 & E6420 chips, but they have probably cleaned up a few other little problems. Seems to be stable and has cured some minor irritants I was having. I was also able to up my OC by a bit.

This is the board I have. What little problems did the updates fix. I am thinking about updating.

Well mostly for my overclock....I was not able to run my memory at it's rated frequency, and often upon reboot it would reset all my settings. That seems to be fixed. Overall it seems to be booting faster...probably related to my memory issues.

The didn't release a changelog so I don't know. My initial impression is that is just seems to run better for me. I usually don't bother to upgrade unless I'm having trouble with something. I'd still be on F7 if it wasn't for my X-Fi.

Keep in mind it's a beta release, so there should be final coming soon anyways.

Yeah I updated last time because of my X-Fi but since I am not having any problems right now I will probably hold off. Thanks for the info though.

This is now fully released.....and apparently fixed an overclock issue with the PCI-Express.

New bios, F12 was released at the end of May. Been running it for a few days and seems stable.

I didn't have a compelling reason to install besides the fact that it's new, but it works.

Hmm. I have had no issues with the two DS3's rev 2.0 I have, both run E6700's and have XFi's. and the same memory, PQI 2 gig turbo kits, PC4200, then again I do not over clock anything
