  • need help deciding what vid card to buy.

I was hoping to get some feed back on which of these 2 video cards I should buy. let me preface this by saying that I cannot afford an 8800 I have a $200 budget give or take a few dollars for shipping, so Im looking to moderately upgrade from my current x300 256mb thats just old now. sli is not important right now but I have thought about it so that is making the decision difficult.

    thx guys.

I have a couple BFG 8800 GTS OC (one is a OC2) 320 that I am parting with for around that price range (each) if interested.

the 8600 GTS has benched worse then the x1950 on most tests I've seen the 8600 however is a DX10 card but I doubt its ability to run DX10 with any competence Id go for the x1950 card or for a bit more cash a 8800 GTS

If you're not going for TheBigC's 8800GTS, grab a X1950 Pro. The 8600 isn't really worth it. Yay for DX10 but it'll run everything crappier than the X1950 Pro.
