  • Soundblaster X-fi issues?

I've put this card in my PC due to mic problems I was having, but it turned out the mic was bad anyway.

Since I put the card in, I changed the sound settings to Ultra High in BF2, as that's what this card is for (it has the Xram and everything). But my game will occasionally lock up my machine completely. I have to reset and reboot due to this. Has anyone else had this sort of issue?

    Thanks,
    rich

In BF2, did you set the audio renderer to Creative X-Fi?

If so, your next step is to make sure you have the latest drivers from Creative.

If you already have the latest drivers, make sure you have the latest OpenAL from http://developer.creative.com/articl...&top=38&aid=46

I did, in fact, set it to X-fi.

I think I have the latest drivers, but will double check.

I just installed the OpenAL like you suggested. Will let you know when I play later what it does.
