Help. I have a new system, new install with vista 64, 4 gig ram. All runs good. I have been testing, benching, and gaming on the system for over a week (COD4, Stalker, BF2 Vanilla). All run fine.

Now ready for the big leagues, I load up PR. I did the correct routine, with patch, up to .756 (levels and cores..maps too). I run as admin, and even did the run under xp sp2. I also downloaded the Vista 64 sp1.

I keep getting an series of errors that start with:

Particles fix(229) error x3401 Unsupported Compiler Target 'LowPSModel'

Any ideas? I have been searching for an hour or so and can not find good, complete info on this.

Thanks for your help in advance...StevieRay

uninstall, reinstall...dropped special forces. I now get: StaticMesh.fx error...google....no good answer. Can anyone help? I posted on PR mod forums also...I may have to give this game up after a looong time of loving it.

I think you will be able to get a better answer over at pr.com.
Only thing I know of you already tried. Also see the post I just made here in the forum about a new Vista update just released, and see if that helps.

Hi Bamboo. Was hoping you would see this. I did download that update too. I may have to uninstall again. Crazy frustrating. Sooo many folks list it as an issue and hardly any say anything after they fix.

Did you try downloading again, like maybe from another source this time?

Re: Vista 64/PR - LowPSModel and Unsupported Compiler Target error

Hi, well, before the uninstall..I decided to run the patch again...and guess what..it worked, with PR already on board. Game loaded right up...

BUT, when I went into multiplayer it said I have version .755 and not .756 which I am sure I loaded? I never even heard of that version!

Any ideas? Would the .708 to .756 patch help?

              That is really weird...................
Hey, try running the patch again :D

What you just posted would be best over at PR.com, since maybe a dev will see it and have a quick solution.
