  • Mouse disconnecting!

I have a Razer Diamondback mouse that has never failed me before, but things have been acting weird lately. Every once and a while, it will disconnect from my computer. It will then automatically reconnect itself after about 15 sec. It just started doing...what could it be?

It seems to only disconnect when I am gaming.

did you rollover the line with your chair? ive done that..

also older mouses can get the line twisted and damaged after awhile id unplug it and check all of the line for any kinks cuts or other damage.

I ended up just getting my spare Diamondback and it works fine now. I think it was just getting old and beat up;)

You may want to try plugging it up to a powered USB hub if you have one. The USB root hubs in a computer are current limited to 500mA. If a device pulls more than that it will powered down the root hub in a current saving mode.

I have an Asus motherboard, actually two of them, and they both have this issue. I just unplug and replug every once in a while. I suck bad enough in games that no one notices the difference.

                  Re: Mouse disconnecting!

I had a USB mouse do this but it was about 4 years old (Microsoft Intellimouse). Unfortunately for me, no amount of advice helped to get it working again. I hope this isn't the case for you, but I ended up having to get a new mouse.

Funny thing is, it only did it during gaming as well. My new mouse luckily doesn't so apparently the old mouse was just worn out.

I do that all the time.

Oh, wait, my mouse is wireless. It's my cat that has a cord. :p
