  • AMD Phenom 9500 Quad

Could anyone link me to an easy to understand site with comparisons on this CPU and other AMD and Intel ones?

I tried toms hardware but i couldnt find much there, but maybe i looked in the wrong place.

Pfeh, nevermind i managed to google it. Yes i miss the obvious.

And it tells me i'd be better of with an intel C2D 6600.

I do not necessarily agree with you, though I will tell you that the Phenom 9500 has been replaced by the 9550...it fixed the erratum which has not caused me any issues at all.

Go to http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/p...max-9,369.html and compare the two including price and I think the AMD handles itself quite well. I just got an AMD Phenom 9600 for under $100 if I get rid of the ram I got with it...look at some of the combo deals here:

I think you might be able to find a great deal on this processor...

But the computer i am looking at comes with the 9500 not the 9550.

I am not looking to build myself anymore.

Honestly, it depends on what kind of applications you're going to run.

If you forsee using 3 or more cores within the next 1 - 2 years, I'd go with the Phenom rather than the Core 2 Duo.

          Otherwise, stick with the C2D.
