  • RAM help

(All the products are still in packaged and not opened.)

I bought a EVGA 132-CK-NF78-A1 motherboard and the voltage fo the RAM is at 1.8v and the RAM i bought is Corsair Dominator DDR2 800mhz with the timings of 4-4-4-12 and 2.10v.

The Board says it is compatible with 800mhz ram but the voltages are off. Will i be able to run these things.

    For a frame of reference.

    Re: RAM help

When it comes to ram compatibility, always go to the RAM maker's website. They will have a little search tool that allows you to pull up your motherboard and they will tell you what ram of theirs to purchase for it.

    http://www.corsair.com/configurator/...aspx?id=393385
should be the pull-up for your board.

It does list TWIN2X2048-6400C4 and TWIN2X2048-6400C4DHX as being compatible. The only difference in those models appears to be the heatsink setup, so I should think you're good to go.

      Re: RAM help

With that RAM needing more v, you will probably need to go into the BIOS just to make sure it ups the voltage on it's own, or you may have to do it manually. It is very easy to do, just a couple clicks.

I have the same memory but the 1066 speed version, and you may experience crashes if the ram v isn't set where it needs it.

I'm going to start building until the case, PSU, and the GPU come in. So, this stuff will be in the package for a bit. Thanks guys.
