  • Keyboards of the past where art thou?

I was walking through my garage today...looking for some misplaced tool of some sort..when I spotted an old Commodore Vic 20 sitting on a shelf. I walked over to it..all dusty and such..and started typing on the keyboard...
Ahhh.. The Tactile Feedback of a 20+ yoa keyboard..the clicky noise.. What happened to such beasts..??? Here I type on a G15 Logitech..not the most expensive but fairly pricey..and it's MUSHY by comparison.. and no click.. I did put over $100 into my first PC keyboard in 1992..which was a Focus..which had a set of programmable macro keys and tactile feedback.. But years of Doom and Quake killed it...

I was just wondering..anyone have a newer keyboard that resembles or feels like some of the old classic beasts?? I kinds miss it.. :row__578:

I think the Lenovo keyboards that come with their PCs are similar to the old style clacky keyboards. At least it felt as close as it gets to the old style when I used one a few months ago.

I found a brand new- never used Cherry keyboard in my basement the other day. Still in the box.

Haven't tried using it yet - it may have issues with multi-key presses. Still used PCAT
