  • BF2 and ATI X1650 Pro I experienced my first problem last night

I think i have an x1600 but i might have the x1650, in any event, i noticed last night messing around in a vanilla server that my screen when all distorted and colored for a second and then went back to normal.

I have never experienced and problems until last night. I am not a computer guy whatsoever, my friend helped me install the video card, and now i am worried that its going to fry or mess up my parents computer (i live at home, due to my new job).

Any suggestions? I have noticed that this is a on going problem, i last updated ATI drivers i believe 6months ago, or so, but now i am unsure to even update it even more, especially with the catalyst control thing that I downloaded when i did the last update for the driver.

I am also hearing it has something to do with PB, which is weird because I don't have any PB problems with Vanilla, just with PR.

Please if u have any simple suggestions post here or PM me.

Sorry also if this topic has already started.

If the graphics corruptions didn't stay and the computer didn't hang or restart I wouldn't worry about it.

Distortion can also indicate overheating. If you have any way to monitor your gpu temp keep an eye on it when the distortion happens

Use Rivatuner to crank the fan speed during gaming.
Sometimes by the time it recognizes it is hot the fan should have gone on a long time before.
          So use that instead.
I had a 1600 ATI before. opened side case, put window fan asgainst it and use rivatuner.
          It OC'd very high then.
