  • Rumor: ATI to Release Radeon HD 4890 in April

Man, I was actually spending time on Newegg this morning trying to decide to buy one of the new 55nm 260's, but this just posted:

Rumor: ATI to Release Radeon HD 4890 in April

It is just a rumor for now, but man, that is less than 2 months.

Makes my decision a lot harder.

This is HUGE news is Fudzilla's report is correct:

        RV790 is not a faster RV770

People were thinking the 4890 was going to just be an overclocked 4870, but this is saying it is a completely different updated GPU. And with the price drop people are saying is happening with ATI, this thing could launch at like $250.

my guess would be because its still 55nm, just speculation but may be this chip is the architecture of the new 40nm chips done in 55nm?
