  • RAM-Ganged or Unganged

I recently bought a GIGABYTE GA-MA770-UD3 and an AMD Phenom 9600. I noticed after buying that people were complaining that there ram was "unganged" so the ram was not operating in dual channel. According to what I have read, theoretically unganged works better because each core is assigned ram individually.

So I have two questions for all you folks.

    1. Is this true?
    2. If unganged is in fact better, should I get four sticks of ram so that each core has its
own stick of ram to use?

Thanks in advanced for you replies...

    Re: RAM-Ganged or Unganged

This four-page thread over at OCN should answer your questions.

I really don't know anything beyond the basics of "ganged"/"unganged" RAM. So no personal tidbits or knowledge from me. Hopefully that thread helps you out.
