This is a bit of an interesting article.

Gaming In 64-Bit: Tom's Tests, Microsoft Weighs In

It is not really good news, as from their tests it looks like most games released so far only see at most 1-2 fps improvement, if any over a 32bit setup. But of course, that will change once game are actually written from the ground up to take advantage of 64, instead of the ground up from 32 and then tweaked to work some with 64, as games have been done up to now.

I can't wait to see ARMA2 included in that review, based on this article:

Seems they are working on that.

The advantage that 64bit gaming gives over 32 at the moment is the ability for more RAM to be available for all the little extras that are running along side the game. For instance, when I am gaming the following apps are also running. TS, G-15 app for my keyboard, G5 app for my mouse, N52 app for my Nostromo, the CC client for the 2142 server, STEAM, FRAPS, ESET NOD32 antivirus. The 64bit OS with its expanded addressing capability makes more installed RAM available for these various processes without the added overhead of more swap.
