  • Study: Modern Graphics Card Failure Rates

Pretty good article just popped up. Of course, it was only taken over a 7 month period, so isn't a total picture, but still interesting.

I'm linking to the short story because there are a lot of good comments to read, but there is a link there to read the full english version.

I think it would have been better if it were concluded over an "even" 12 month period, instead of 7.

Either way, I would almost say "hey great! failure rate for ATi is low!" but then you have 3870x2 failure rates....

It leads me to believe it has just as much to do with volume than with model/brand.

No EVGA, BFG, or XFX? Those are the three I trust most!

Nice to see ASUS quality shines through the rest. ;)

Still would be nice if they included eVGA and XFX cards into the mix. Would love to know how these two brands compare to ASUS and Sapphire.

I have a feeling a lot of people don't have proper case airflow with the GTX280, I rarely ever see anybody post about their 280 failing on forums and the people that would put the 280 in an improper case are the ones that never look at forums...
            Same with the 3870x2 probably.

Damnit Blizzard, fix ZvT already >.<

I agree, I think evga is one of the best. At I trust them as being one of the best.

The report is from Europe, France I think, so might not have those brands.
Also, I know of 2 people that have had to RMA a 280. DesertFox from PR, who I helped with the build, had to send his back.
