  • Backing up a install partition.

I had windows act funny on me today and I was hoping that there is a way to back up the install partition of my Windows 7 machine. So I could just pop in a disc and have it restore to the last backup point.

So anyone have experience with this kind of thing?

Windows 7 allows you to do a system image backup. Never used it myself, but I guess it should work (some limitations depending on the W7 edition you are running).

This imaging software is free (and there are even more out there).

I used this one (not free) a few times (XP, win7).

I'm sure others will chime in.
