  • Avast! vs. Teamspeak

So i get home from work and try to jump onto Teamspeak when I suddenly get the trojan horse alarm from Avast! and opt to do nothing but now windows tells me the TS.exe no longer exists. I uninstall TS and reinstall and Avast! once again sets off the trojan horse alarm.

I restore the TS.exe but still get a error from windows.

    Anyone experienced this before?

        Re: Avast! vs. Teamspeak

I got hit. It looks like it was the recent Avast update that triggered the alert. I haven't updated TS in a couple of years. I may try suspending Avast and using the Windows program until this is sorted out.

I turned it off and started d/ling AVG and tried manually updating the Avast software (I had already reinstalled TS) . Looks like this took care of the problem. TS and Avast are working in "harmony" once again. Wish I could say the same for Windows and Avast as MS no longer supports the reporting process Avast uses.

Alternatively, you could switch over to Avira. It's a lot more robust than when I first used it back in it's early days when it was still called "Anti-Vir Anti Virus".

Huh, Avast thinks Spybot-Search and Destroy is a virus.

No problems here! Avast for me just runs in the background, the only pop up I get is when it updates.

Yeah, mine's fixed but it affected my copy of Windows, made it not Genuine.
