  • Best all-in-one printer?

    Hey guys,

I was looking to pick up a new AOI printer for x-mas, preferrably wireless and with fax. I'd like to spend less than $150. I was currently looking at a Canon Pixma MX860, but was wondering if anyone had any other suggestions.

It's just for normal household use, so I don't need anything special, but would like to keep ink costs as low as possible.

    Thanks!

I actually went the Canon Pixma 4700 and a Epson scaner.

From the reviews the printer is top notch and the scanner had some features I wanted like a lid that could accommodate a text book for scanning.

This Canon PIXMA MP620 is about 40% off @ newegg.

The 4700 makes really nice color photos. The prints leave something to be desired. But it may also be I was using some really old paper and the color didn't "pop" on the dingy paper I had laying around.

If you are still undecided take a look at the HP 6500 series. In particular the HP 6500 wireless

Print, copy, scan, fax, with wireless. Plus with the 920 series ink it gives you the option between cheap standard replacements or for a little more you can go with the 920 XL's. They may cost more, but they give you a LOT more ink for a better cost per print.

You can get this model retail for $150 if you catch the adds right...

I'm a fan of the canon pixma series. One thing I always look for in a color printer is whether there is a separate ink cartridge for each color. Means you don't have to buy a whole new cartridge when one color runs out.
