  • AMD HD 5830 launched today

The AMD HD 5830 launched today, and it looks to be a decent card if you are on a tight budget. It will be an even better option once the price comes down a bit.

Lots of reviews showing up, but Fudzilla says it can beat the Nvidia275 and ATI 4890 in most cases.

The justifications for this price tag is when you compare it to the HD 5850, which retails at around US $300, as it gives around 80 percent of performance for 80 percent of the price. There is also a simple fact that AMD is still without competition as Nvidia is "a bit" late with its Fermi architecture.
I also really like that ATI isn't forcing makers to sell OEM versions to start with, so we get cards with aftermarket coolers right from the start, like the one pictured below.

I don't get the prices on this thing. You have 5850 cards that are priced maybe $20 dollars more or around there. Why not go for the 5850 unless you are on a REALLY tight budget?
