  • New ATI and Nvidia drivers released

Both ATI and Nvidia have released new drivers

ATI 10.3 is supposed to add a bunch of new stuff and tech sites have been talking about it for a couple of months.

    AMD releases promised 10.3 Catalyst

Nvida has also released new drivers, but they are pretty much just beta drivers updated from the ones that got pulled a couple of weeks ago. It just fixes the problem with fans. But who knows, might help some in Bad Company

Nvidia releases Geforce 197.13 beta drivers

Has anyone tried the new ATI drivers? I have had some problems with them in the past with regards to ArmA and had to roll them back. Are these better?

Based upon the last batch of updates, I think I'm gonna try and hold off a day or two on getting ATI's. It'll be nice though, just got an ATI card, been on nvidia so long I can't remember ATI's interfaces!

I've got the 10.3 preview that was released a couple days ago, my 3dmark score went up by over 100 points. The performance gain is very good. Its one of those "miracle releases".

Looks like the full version of both have been released. Some good comments in both these links:

Re: New ATI and Nvidia drivers released

I updated the ATI drivers today and now my 16:9 scaling is off. On my Samsung there is now a black border around the picture when using CPU. No settings in CCC or the monitor will change that. I uninstalled and it went back to normal and then reinstalled an older ATI driver and the same thing happened. It must be something with my CPU because when I restarted after the ATI driver updated the Win Installer popped up for a second. Not saying it is a bad driver, just something got borked in the display settings for me and not sure what to do. Anyone had this happen before? (Win 7 x64)

EDIT: after a few turns with Driver Sweeper and reinstalling 3-4 times, looks like things are back. Something weird was happening as my system would not recognize the drivers properly even after it said there was a successful install.

Really great driver update. I got 4 frames more in the ARMA II Benchmark 1, than in 10.2. Went from 35 to 39 fps.

So I finally installed the new 10.3 ATI drivers last night. I haven't had any more black-to-gray screen flickers so far. Looks like that one glitch seems to have been fixed.

Re: New ATI and Nvidia drivers released

well the new drivers solved some stuttering issues i was getting in some games even tho i was getting 30+ frames on average.

In the game medieval 2 total war it doesn't stutter even at 22 frames when theres ALOT of trees around me but thats one example.

Also it has improved performance in l4d2 like it said it would

Same here. Noticed an increase in my FPS in ArmA as well as a couple other graphically demanding games. Good update. (finally lol)
