I'll give you one guess why I feel the need to add this to my collection:

Pegatron showing off miniature Tegra 2-powered home theater PC

Though with the Boxee Box out soon having that awesome remote control, it might be a hard choice.

Hmm, got a link to the Boxee Bam? This one doesn't look all that great with only a single jack-out for speakers.

Wait, where can I purchase a Boxee? Now I'm itching to get one for my dad so I could offload my various TV shows and stuff for him to watch.

Looks like there are some updated versions of boxee for windows. Will have to find time to give it a go.

Re: Pegatron showing off miniature Tegra 2-powered home theater PC

You know what, I just came across the PopBox, another HTPC competing with the Boxee (alongside the Roku SD/HD and ASUS O!Play). For $130, it's only missing a integrated WiFi adapter and has a SD card reader integrated, otherwise, it plays pretty the same formats and can output Full HD. Of course, the one other plus, is that it's a box, not the weird truncated cube the Boxee will come in.

The PopBox just soared to the top of my list knocking the Boxee to second. Both are due sometime in the coming months. I'm crossing my fingers both come out at the price point they advertise. Then we'd have some really good variety in HTPC choices.

I don't have much need for a WiFi connection to the future HTPC as most of my videos reside on a hard drive (mostly home videos). I also downloaded the latest Boxee Beta. Looking to put it on old rig in the back room. Man I'm pumped to see both of these boxes release!

The Boxee interface and remote with built in keyboard are very big pluses.
I posted a bunch here somewhere about he popbox as well.
I was also annoyed at the shape of the Boxee, but when you see how tiny it really is, it almost doesn't matter the shape. I do still wish it was flat though.
