  • Cant get both sound and mic working at the same time with USB headset and windows 7

I have a Microsoft Lifechat LX-3000 USB head set and can not get both the sound and the Mic to work at the same time with windows 7
If I set as default sound device I get sound , but the microphone does not work.
If I set as default communication device the Microphone works and the sound does not.

    Any Ideas?

It is a New Computer and this is the first time I've tried to use the headset.

USB Headsets are a nightmare, generally.

Try right-clicking the speaker icon in the system tray, click recording devices, highlight the microphone, go into properties and configure the options in there.

That may or may not help, I'm just clutching at straws here. Good luck!
