The only thing that annoys me more than the incessant royal wedding coverage is the incessant whining about not wanting to watch the royal wedding. TVs have an off button for a reason - this isn't 1984. Go into another room, put some headphones on, read a book.
Me? I was recovering from a night out, eating a late breakfast and reading Revelation Space.

Irregular since 2007.
What was the final cost to the taxpayers of that wedding?
Very little compared to other expenditure, not only that but the economic benefit from tourism / merchandise generated from the wedding will most likely be far more than the cost itself. The only other matter would be if the public holiday caused more economic damage than could be made back, but I don't think anyone is complaining about having a day off. :D
I'm no Royalist, but I think the royal family is one of the only things left in Britain that we can be truly proud of. Events like this are the only time you will see British flags flying in the street bar football matches.
