It is a simple piece of topical video art (the title provides the interpretative context). I have been making video art pieces out of the BF franchise since 2005/6. This one happens to have a political narrative but I am not in the least bit interested in debating its meaning, the Tea Party, or the current state of the American democratic system in this forum.
The semiotics of the narrative is straightforward. The flag is attacked and remains unharmed. The surrounding structure takes all the damage.
Regardless of your intent, it's easy for Americans to be offended by your video, especially given the number of American veterans we have here at TG. While I appreciate the effort to foster discussion and appreciation for the rights protected by our First Amendment, I really don't think this is the forum for such.
. . . does nothing to foster discussion on the topic of Battlefield 4.
If anywhere it belongs in the sandbox, and certainly not here.
I understand the role of the Sandbox for the discussion of controversial topics.
Yet the unspoken assumption is that other TG BF series videos by our membership posted in similar forums such as this one are apolitical, which they are not. These games are intensely political in nature. I have merely made the political nature of the game explicit.
Having said that, I will not take offence if the Admins feel the need to delete this thread or move it to the Sandbox.
