  • Your Drink of choice

Hey TG, just a general question for y'all. I know this is particular subject is buried in the archives, but i don't care!

What is your drink of choice? Or drinks of choice? I have 2:

To get drunk: Cider with a shot of whiskey mixed in

To enjoy myself: A shot of decent bourbon mixed with a tad of ginger ale, or served on the rocks

Also a Great Lakes Beer fan, since I'm from Cleveland

Drinks...non alcoholic--has to be strong hot coffee, black and steaming. I'm becoming my grandfather...I'm convinced.

Alcoholic...your are better off asking what my favorite bourbon, vodka, Tequila...etc etc is. I'm a craft brew fan and my choice usually depends on the time of year and my own mood. Nothing beats an ice cold pilsner in the Summer or a smoky, dark Rausch bier in the dead of winter.

Evening Out (classy joints) - Gin and Tonic. Prefer St. George's various Gin's, but Sapphire works well.
Night Out (not classy joints) - GnT or Vodka Club. Sapphire or Ketel One
Chaos (indescribable joints) - Sailor and Coke or Absinthe
Day Drinking (On the Water, Tailgates, etc) - Grape Gatorade (Grape Vodka, Water, splash of sweet n sour in a pint glass)

      Jager Bombs anytime.

No alcohol or soda (pop), just black coffee or water.

Not sure which my favorite bourbon or whiskey is, but I like the top shelf items and just drink them sparingly.

As for a regular drink, I like 10 Cane Rum on the rocks or mixed in a Rum and Coke.

As for another mix, I like Old Fashions and the Sazeracs.

Coffee. I love coffee. I can drink it any way but prefer it ultra strong and black. The worse the coffee quality to more laxed I am to add stuff to it. I also love myself some espresso and routinely have 4 two oz servings in a go - sadly my espresso machine doesn't make a great standalone espresso (no crema for one) so I often either turn it into an Americano (add hot water), a Red Eye (add percolated coffee), or Cappuccino (I got a nice simple one button press frother).

As it comes to alcoholic beverages? Whiskey and Bourbon do a fine job in my coffee with a little cream and sugar. And on the rare occasion I'll drink said alcohol alone with ice. However, standalone alcoholic beverages? Gotta be beer. I really enjoy the IPAs and Hoppier drafts. Blue Moon is the about the closest I found myself to enjoying the 'bigger' (ie the ones that can afford advertisements) brands, though a few of Sam Adam's have been pleasant.

Oh and I'll never pass up a Porter brewed with coffee. :D

I also abuse my beverages in opposite to the norm. I've never been drunk but I routinely over caffeinate.

I'm going to be the odd one here and say I really enjoy smoothies. If possible, ones I can create myself. Either going down the fruit thread or the chocolate/peanut butter thread (maybe those are more "shakes," but it's no matter); either work well for me. Just none of those green smoothie drinks that normally are force-fed to livestock. Not a fan of that.

                  Non-Alcoholic
Sports/Energy: Monster Ultra (White, Blue, Red, and Orange)**

                  Alcoholic
Beer: Leinenkugels Berry Wise, Redd's Apple Ale, Angry Orchard Hard Cider, Weiss (less sweet Belgium styles are my fav), White lagers and their assorted variants, IPA (non imperial, I like middle-ish hopness and crispness)
                  Wine: Moscato (and its variations)

** I can't get enough. Uses Erythritol (Truvia, Stevia) sweetener. Tastes like sugar without the "bads" of sugar. Mainly your body does not absorb the sweetener, it does not interact with bacteria in your body (real sugar tends to help create bad breath), and doesn't have any effect on your blood glucose levels (for those who are sugar sensitive).

Non-Alcoholic? Never heard of. I had water once.

Alcoholic: Whisky straight with a dash of water. Or a G&T. We had some great local Gins popping up lately. People over here are picking up the trend. I like that.
