    Furthermore, the PM-elect's only proposal to date is to pull troops out of Iraq. That's his idea of how to address the terror problem in Spain. Not exactly proactive...

    The good people of Spain seem to be saying that they unite with the USA in the war on terror, but only as long as the gun remains pointed at us, not them, and where our countries disagree, they will pull out of any partnership. Not a good model for success, and not a good plan for Spain.

    History will not judge Spain well over this, I don't think. To allow terrorists to murder several hundred people and not blame them but the current gov't and, by extension, the USA, is shameful and wrongheaded, in my opinion.

    The timing is very suspect, but so is looking for al-queda in Iraq.

    At least they are not pulling out outright, they are TRYING to get a UN security force to help.

    We lost 7 more US soldiers yesterday. :-(
