  • Radiodread (Music for a Beatnik)

Yahoo radio just hooked yours truly up with a cut from the album Radiodread, which appears to be a reggae version of the entire OK Computer album. Easy on the ears.

This of course reminded me of Beatnik and his frisbee-dropping ways, so I thought I'd post. :D

The dude most definitely abides. I found this a couple weeks ago. It's very good, though not quite up to par of Dub Side of the Moon. Now where's that frisbee?

My friend works for a large music website in VA, and his coworker was spinning this record at a Radiohead pre-party in Philly a couple months ago. Thom Yorke was there and told the DJ he loved some of the mixes he heard. Apparently he had never heard the final album before that.

This album really ties the room together... ;)

Dub Side definitely...uh, you know, you'll, uh, you know what I'm trying to say.

What were we talking about? I have no idea what's going on.

Re: Radiodread (Music for a Beatnik)

Had a great Dub Side moment while relaxing around a campfire with some friends last month, Beatnik. The exchange was like this:

me: "oh man, I have the perfect music for this moment in time"
(I jump up and head for the CD player)
friend: "ya? What is it, Floyd?" (I am well known as a long-time Floyd fan)
me: "close... but better... much, much better"
                    (music starts)
                    friend: "marley?"
me: "close again... it's rastafloyd mon"
                    friend: "ohhh sweeeeeet"

Thank you for making that possible, Beatnik.
                    Peace through fear... since 1947!

LOL Had a few times like that myself - mostly at my condo pool back in NC (where a lot of young single people owned their first place and the pool was...lively on the weekends). If a girl understands how cool that album is and says something, she passes about 10 'coolness tests' right off the bat. ;)

                      Good stuff. :)

Re: Radiodread (Music for a Beatnik)

Well I've listened to Dub and Radiodread several times this weekend and they're both a lot of fun. Toot's version of Let Down has sunk its hooks into me like no other song on either album, so I have to give my personal hat tip to Radiodread.

Sorry Beatnik. I'll look forward to your reply around noon. ;)
