      Re: Hurricanes... In Oklahoma!

Certain places got 10.5 inches. Sustained winds of 80mph. There was an eye where wind speed dropped to 0 and no rain was falling. One weather chaser I heard said he could glimpse the stars while in the eye.

I know it is not equal to what the coasts get, but this is in the middle of the country. The gulf is 450 miles away.

I had fun driving home on I-40 yesterday morning at 8. Everybody was going really slow, so I got in behind a State Trooper in the fast lane and he almost lost it twice going through some standing water on the interstate.

Seeing as I live, literally, right across the interstate from you, I'm surprised you only got 6". Our rain gauge showed a hair over 7" in as many hours. The Conservation ponds behind our house were looking ready to burst.

But yeah, that was a wicked rain. And it saved me from having to water my lawn for the next week :D
