Which is especially impressive, considering she is going to do it with a Health Car!

Its impossible. There is no way that everyone in the county can have health care for only $110 Billion. Since we spend over $600 Billion a year alone in just taking care of the poor. So how can we spend only $110 Billion and take care of everyone? Three ways I can think of.

          1. The health care you will receive will be extremely poor
          2. Not everyone will be accepted for health care
          3. She is lying. Most likely this one, since she has made her whole career out of lying to people.

The way I hear it, the plan runs roughly like this:

Step 1: Order everyone to buy themselves health insurance, the same way you order people to get car insurance already (although thats actually a bad analogy, but it'll do for now)

Step 2: Everyone's already got health care due to step 1, so the problem should be solved by now. But just in case theres a few holdouts who claim that they cant afford health insurance for some strange reason, we'll use that $110 Billion to subsidize their insurance costs to help them afford it.

And since you're worried about cost and quality, here's a reassuring quote from Hillary on the subject.

Well, if thats true then its a horrible plan. First of all, you shouldn't be forced to do anything, I don't care whether it is the best thing in the world, you shouldn't have to do anything if you don't want to. Second, I don't see a point of doing this, why not just take that money and help the people who can't afford our current health care, instead of turning it into a Socialist health care, one in which you wont get the best care in the world, nor will you even be guaranteed a doctor or vital organ that you may need.

Right now, we (Americans) have the best health care in the world, if you can afford it. Which most of us can. No one else on the planet is taken care of as well as we are, why would you want to change that? Does Hillary's plan make healthcare free? No, you still gotta pay for it, but its hidden in taxes, nothing is free. If you had to sum up economics in one sentence it would be "Theres no such thing as a free lunch".

Can someone who agrees with Hillary please tell me why this would be a good thing? And don't say because its free, because its NOT.

Actually, its not quite that insidious, just misguided and stupid. Hilary isn't offering free government healthcare funded by taxpayers, she's going to demand that you buy healthcare from a normal, for-profit health insurance company, just like most of America already does today. The people who already pay for health insurance won't notice much difference. The people who have decided health insurance is too expensive for them will hate this plan, as it will STILL be too expensive, but they'll have to buy it anyway. Fortunately, Hillary has a plan to reduce the cost of Health Insurance to a more manageable level!

Unfortunately, she has the strange notion that the only reason Health Insurance is so expensive is that Health Insurance companies are greedy bastards who just want to ruin your life while they profit, and don't care about actual economic efficiency. Therefore, her plan to cut costs is to expand Government Medicaid into a universal health insurance provider which will somehow offer insurance much more cheaply than corporate insurance providers, because they will actually care about improving efficiency while corporate insurance is only worrying about improving profits.

I don't know what country you think you live in, but you're forced to do something you don't want to all the time.

I love how putting "socialist" in a sentence can be used as an attack against the idea on it's own merits. Has anyone ever tried to actually defend the "socialism = automatically bad" mythos that seems to permeate the entirety of America?

nor will you even be guaranteed a doctor or vital organ that you may need.
You aren't guaranteed either of those right now.

Right now, we (Americans) have the best health care in the world, if you can afford it. Which most of us can. No one else on the planet is taken care of as well as we are, why would you want to change that?
                      You base this off of?

                      From Here:
Seven years ago, the World Health Organization made the first major effort to rank the health systems of 191 nations. France and Italy took the top two spots; the United States was a dismal 37th.
Guess what guys, the American Health Care System is utter garbage when compared to other first world countries. I can at least give Hilary some credit (as much as I hate to) for actually trying to do something to fix it. Everyone else seems content to let the beast drag on.

I've also read statistic of US health coverage hovering around 40%. Not exactly what I would call "most." In fact, I would say that borders on "absolutely pathetic" for the proclaimed "best in the world" health care system.

Guess what kind of system the French have? Wow! Socialist (also known as "we don't leave uninsured people to die in the streets" system). I'm not saying that socialized medicine is neccessarily the answer to America's dismal health care situation (both civilian and military), but it's not an argument to say "socialized health care = bad because.... COMMIES!"

Re: Hillary is going to win as our next President!

                        Breaking News in California:
Medi-Cal, the state wide government dispensed health insurance for people who 'can't afford' health insurance is seeing wide spread use and as a result people who 'can't afford' health insurance have the assurance of coverage.

In a completely unrelated topic the cost of other independant health insurance premiums have risen due to the state mandated low reimbursement for medi-cal patients. Primarily because of the need of health providers to be able to afford to provide services and make up the loss. Clinics and Emergency Rooms are seeing significant problems with patient load and space due to the policy of medi-cal providing free ED services to its recipiants who then op to use Emergency rooms like a free pharmacy or personal physcian for minor cases instead of paying a nominal charge to be assigned a personal physcian. Non-profit health providers and 'not for profit' health providers are being run out of business due to the inability to maintain services under the health standards with the amount paid to them by medi-cal which public services are required to take.

Its not all that bad I suppose. Fraud is rampent with multiple people abusing the medi-cal system to get treatment in order to save such expensive costs as a box of bandages or over the counter medication. With Medi-cal paying $7 for the cost of $371+ ED services per patient the difference is then picked up by people who buy private insurance or who have insurance through their employers who are then forced to pay higher prices.

Man, I should've had a common name like Jose Garcia. Then I could borrow someone's medi-cal card and SSN and get free treatment and services just like the other 22 people who were recently found using the same Medi-cal card and SSN to get pain killers. Helps not speaking english too I suppose since you're automatically issued one and no one really bothers to match up faces if you have the card, can answer questions, and they just want to kick you and your "I have abd pain because I haven't eaten all day" so they can treat the heart attack or stroke that just came in via ambulance but can't treat because you refuse to leave your room or accept discharge until you get your free meal and a Rx for pain killers as 'treatment'.

Re: Hillary is going to win as our next President!

I'm going to agree with Fenix and Tarenth. Except that I would like to see Hillary win this next election. I identify with Republicans for the most part, except for these last few years, and feel as if a change is in order for several reasons.

                              1) I don't like how this war is being handled. I have over half a dozen friends in Iraq right now and the stories they tell me show me how badly everything is being run. One is back now only because the building he was in blew up with him in it, thankfully he is ok with just a few minor injuries, he's had some interesting stories of stupidity from his CO's and what sort of things happen there. Another friend who is enlisted as a mechanic has actually been seeing combat when there are plenty of other grunts better suited to the tasks they have had him on. More than once he has been given a weapon he has not trained with and been told to cover his squadmates as they rush a building, I thought the Green Berets were better than that.

I'm not saying she would rush in and fix everything with the war, but I think a different perspective will help.

                              2) Getting back on topic, I would love to see sweeping healthcare reforms. I work in a pharmacy, and every day I see roughly 30% of prescriptions filled without insurance of any kind. I know this cannot be everyone who does not have insurance, because I see several people every day who simply cannot fill their prescriptions because they are too expensive and any alternative medications would be too much as well. In most of these cases we try to ease their burden and hand out gift cards which cover a large portion of the out of pocket cost or we will check with other pharmacies to see if they offer the meds for cheaper and give them at that price.

Something needs to be done about healthcare, more people need it and some people cannot seem to get it despite their efforts. I have sat on the phone with medicare for a very good Vietnamese customer to try to enroll him in medicare only for them to tell me he needs to be 70 to receive medicare.... complete B.S. you receive it wether you want it or not at 65 and can request it earlier for certain illnesses. But that is the state of things as I see it every day.

                              3) I want a democrat in office because I don't want my interest rates hiked up on my student loans. Which is exactly what republicans will allow banks to do if they are elected again. I read a rather in-depth article in the Houston Chronicle several months ago, so my facts are fuzzy at this point, but the point was clear Republicans have the banking industry's best interests at heart when it comes to student loans. Which is just perfect since I attend the University of North Texas where my tuition has increased from roughly $800 per semester pre 9/11 and they have increased tuition by the maximum allowable rate per year every year since, I believe its nearing $4000 per semester and that is for classes alone. Guess who UNT is funded by and offers their loans solely through, Wells Fargo. Several times I have somehow had issues with my classes where I will be dropped the day before the semester begins and have to re-enroll and be forced into taking out a short-term loan through Wells Fargo.
