  • Lawrence Wright / The Looming Tower

I'm posting a reference to a book that I have not read, but am soon going to. I just heard a noteworthy radio broadcast of a one hour talk with writer Lawrence Wright. The specific talk was on a CBC radio show called 'Ideas.' I am unable to locate a transcript of it but Wright presents an extremely well presented, researched and experienced view of Saudi Arabia, Bin Laden's Al Qaeda and the broader inequalities that the modern 'war on terror' both fights and creates.

The radio segment, entitled 'Al Qaeda and the road to 9/11' originally aired on September 28 2007. He also appeared on NPR's Fresh Air, and an audio link can be found here: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/s...toryId=5651161

Information on the book, which won the Pulitzer for general nonfiction in 2007, as well as links to related material can be found here:

I would highly recommend this book, my favorite read from last year.
