  • Email netequette

Ever send an email comprised of multiple paragraphs, only to discover the recipient reads only the first, then phones you to ask questions that were answered by the subsequent paragraphs? Or ask a series of questions, and the reply responds to only the first? This drives me nuts.

I was reading a Slashdot thread today on why text messages are limited to 160 characters, and a long sub-thread near the top talks about just the issue of people ignoring most of the tail of long messages, and how one might deal with it.

    Re: Email netequette

    *shrug*

I generally try to compose E-mails exactly like a text letter. Header, Greeting, introduction, body, body, body, closing, signature, postscript. And for the most part the people I write two seem to read the whole thing.
