  • European Union Times?

The European Union Times, wich labels themselves as a credible news source, is alot of things, but they are not credible news. In fact they seem to be openly racist and don't apologize for it. Many Libertarian bloggers have been using their stories as credible news sources as pointed out by the Southern Poverty law Center in this article. Racist Skinhead’s Wife Behind European ‘News’ Website. Now I'm no fan of some of the SPLC's politics, but they seem to be spot on in this case. Its unbelievable, The European Union Times actually makes Alex Jones look like a shining beacon of credible journalism. I guess we might think we have a problem with racism in America, and we do, but some European's seem to be more open and inflammatory about it. Not to mention the fear mongering and conspiratorial stories like the ones I posted below for example. The video by RT News, wich is featured in the EU times article also seems to be following a trend in Russian news that the end of the United States is drawing near. We might be on our way to another economic collapse, but some Russian news sources such as RT News seem to want to help us on our way if you know what I mean.

    Re: European Union Times?

This news paper is everything but a "Time". They only have an online version at the moment and they're operating since october 2009. There is a network going on with RT, Alex jones, and now EUTime, and they are pretty much doing the same thing that the other network, in refering and plugging each other. I find it weird, because we see that there is someone with a certain budget behind this though I did not found who it it. And we don't know where are their "journalist", in how many they are, in which country, etc etc.

What i find sad is that they are playing in the extrems and those who call themself journalist are suppose to bring objective news, which is obviously not what they're doing. Also, calling themself with the "Time" tag is an insult for the real "Time" journals that we know since long time, with a hight level of credibility.<

And about the rebelion in US, they are showing US troops on training and they seems to conclude that means they are preparing a revolution or something like that. We would like to see something more credible than a women who asked a cupple of questions...

That's what I thought when I read the title 'Obama orders troops to prepare for US civil war' (or whatever it was).

          They can't be for real...

I know. It's outrageous. The sad part is that some bloggers are actually using this site as a news source for their blogs. From the SPLC article:
The story began on Dec. 9 when the EUT reported that Obama has ordered 200,000 troops to be redeployed to the U.S. Northern Command in preparation for a civil war within the United States before the end of winter.

Since then, it has been cited by blogger Michael Gaddy on LewRockwell.com and by former Constitution Party presidential candidate Chuck Baldwin on his own website.
This is what you get when you do a Google search for European Union Times:
The European Union Times - World News, Breaking News Dec 22, 2009 ... European newspaper, Online edition with News covers from all over the World, Trustworthy and here to Inform you!
"Trustworthy and here to Inform you". They can't be serious.

This has got to be satire, all over that site they are constantly spurting crap like "we're trustworthy!"
I also noted that they plagiarised Gamespy's detective image.

                      They should be shut down.

The server they operate from should close the site.

I dunno who monitors internet in the UK but they should be informed. I am guessing they operate out of the UK? What about German laws? Surely they could raise the alarm?

This is alarming. It doesn't seem a joke. Not with some comments. They are not jokes whatever way put.

                      Surely this is totally illegal.

In any case it is evil.

The new "American civil war" propaganda has been around for a long time, especially coming from Russian news outlets. Although, they're correct about the dire situation our country is really in and the coming default and collapse of the dollar. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that it will likely cause a lot of chaos, especially to the mostly bewildered and uninformed American public.

Yea. Thats a good question. The SPLC article says:
In October, Nachtman stabbed another man during an altercation at a luxury hotel in Palm Beach County, where Holocaust revisionist David Irving was giving a talk. No charges have been filed. The man who was stabbed, John Kopko, has also been involved in neo-Nazi activities in the past. Irving was quoted at the time as saying that Christopher Nachtman attended the event with his wife, Jessica, whom he said might open a bookstore and sell his books. The Nachtmans live in the semi-rural community of Loxahatchee in Palm Beach County, records show.
So they live in the US. Not sure if they are Americans or not. Either way, the site is outrageous, and should be shut down. But, there is the free speech question I guess, no matter how racist and inflammatory it is. This would not even be a story if idiot Libertarian bloggers hadn't used the site as a credible news source, and Chuck Baldwin should know better you would think. Then again maybe not.

                            Re: European Union Times?

If they quoted the Onion we would simply laugh at them for using the Onion as a 'credible' news source. Is this different because it isn't as obvious?

Note my story link above was to a discovery about the lost city of Atlantis. Clearly this is either a joke or fringe site, both of which should stay available if they are US based for free speech issues, and the Libertarian sites should do a better job of researching their sources.
