  • Aar – 6/12/16

A summary of operations we took on Esamir. We started out dropping near bases VS were attacking via Valkyrie and removing enemy armor assets. The squad really picked up some momentum once we loaded up a sunderer with AV kits.
Our first Target with our sunderer was a small hill to the north of East River Sky Station to assist with a friendly assault on the base. We had a great vantage point on their vehicle bay and we destroyed 3 armor assets and two base defense turrets during our time there. Once the fight on our end had diminished we proceeded to head east to assist the Nott Research Camp which was under siege by the Vanu. Moving east, dispatching a few vehicles along the way, we spotted the enemy sunderer along the south side of the base and setup a firing position on it. The Vanu quickly caught wind of us and began repairing the sunderer to no avail. Our concentrated fire power quickly dispatched the enemy sunderer and the Vanu attack began to disperse back to the Geological Survey Camp. Our next target was a mountain structure southwest of the Geological Survey Camp. The sunderer posted up in the crevices of the mountain and we took an overwatch position on the bridge leading to the Nott Research Camp, suppressing any vehicle traveling to try and rekindle the fight at Notts. A few times we were flanked by some erratic Vanu lightning drivers and I thought we were done for, however we held firm. Once the enemy began to gain the upper ground on us to our south we made a quick flanking maneuver to the west to gain the high ground once again. Easily dispatching the tanks that had flanked us, I saw that our friendly forces had made it over the bridge and began the attack on the Geological Survey Camp. Squad then repositioned for over watch on the road leading to Frostfall Overlook. We head this area for a solid 20 minutes before moving across the road to remove an enemy built base and then make an attack for the point. However, our efforts were a tad too late for the point due to a few infantry skirmishes. We attempted to make for an exfil at the bases local vehicle terminal as we had an infiltrator handy however, due to an enemy push catching our men in open ground we were wiped.

Our last op of the night we took a galaxy into enemy territory where we loaded up a sunderer with AV kits and our targets were enemy HIVE’s. Our first HIVE was a textbook takedown. AI module destroyed by our infiltrator, sunderer rushed the base and dumped our men straight on in where we cleaned the base of any occupants and then the HIVE was cleanly dispatched. As we loaded up we moved over the open ice towards the bridge between Bridge-ward and Elli Tower. A squad member called out an enemy lightning to our south and in the same instance an enemy liberator pumped most of its magazine of tank buster straight into the rear of our sunderer. We quickly took cover between the pillions of the bridge and we sent a small group to go take the lightning out at the south end of the bridge. Two of us had stayed back to defend the sunderer which was being strafed by the angry liberator. Soon I had realized we attracted the attention of an enemy harasser to our sunderer and things took a grim turn here as we were steadily losing our sunderer. Just when things seemed to be over we had heard the nose gun of a friendly reaver. Turned out Alex021 had heard of our difficulties and proceeded to come just in the knick of time to take the liberator off of us. Once we regained control of the area around the sunderer with some wonderful close air support from Alex we assisted in the take down of a second hive and proceeded to move onto the third. As we setup position on the third hive, we were blindsided by a TR armor zerg. We fought valiantly however, we ended up wiped. At that I had called it a night.

Special thanks to Starstriker for being a super effective recon/infiltrator and Alex021 for saving the day! Great job to everyone in the squad it was an effective time on the battlefield!

Pardon the delay in posting this as it is my first AAR.

    Re: Aar – 6/12/16

He's a super duper Medic! He flies a Reaver! He's whatever the squad needs these days! Able to leap tall buildings in a single bound, etc., etc... :D

Congrats on your first AAR! Now, that wasn't so bad, was it? :)
