  • Outfit Specialization

Much like a class, vehicle, or individual weapon, Outfits(guilds) will also have certification trees. This means as an outfit you can put points into benefits for your group. What this can allow is our group to further specialize past the individual into certain roles. As a group we could be geared as a Airborne Infantry group, or an Armour group, or an air group based on certifications. Wanted to get everyone's thoughts and feelings on this.

Sounds good. This game already has much more potential than BF3 ever did. Thankfully it is dead now so many people may look at this. I think its a bit early to be picking certs now but once the beta starts maybe they will accelerate the group certs to let people try it out. Also because not everyone will want to be in the same race we may need multiple groups and multiple forums and additional to that each race itself might divide into different specialities like IHS's provide.

I am really liking the sound of these customisation mechanics, especially in relation to the outfits. This could lead to some really interesting situations and opportunities for meta-teamwork. As Jeepo says, this could work really quite well with TG's IHS's. We shall have to see.

As for BF3, I saw this linked on Reddit earlier:

Then again in comparison to ArmA 3 they are both small. :)

Yeah, they are, but ARMA is a "Simulation Shooter" which is something that quite frankly? Is hard for a LOT of people, myself included to get into. Sometimes, to real is well..to real.

The outfit certs sound really cool. I know in PS1 our IHS loved to do Galaxy drops on strategic targets such as generators so something that supports that role would be perfect.

I understand this, but I would like to keep TG together as much as possible. At the very least on the same faction, that way we can still team up. For beta I'm hoping they let us make multiply characters so everyone can try out every faction before we make any final decision.

Heck yah. in PS1 I was a support specialist most of the time. I was the guy piloting your Galaxy, driving your bangbus (Sunderer heavy transport) and fixing your equipment. Then when the extra certs came out I did fortification engineering so i could lay down extra tank traps and change the turrets on bases to AA/AV weapons. It was a blast.

I think our clan should be an airborne infantry group that relies on the galaxy. But then again, I am biased because I want to fly a galaxy :row__594:

                  Re: Outfit Specialization

How many people can be in an outfit max? I am interested because I want to know if it is big enough for an IHS or big enough for say 30 guys. I just really fancy the sound of these specialisations.

Not for certian but I think they said it tops out at 500 members.

                      Re: Outfit Specialization

That's plenty big. Apparently they have dropped their location based servers. Initially SOE outsourced their European support to a German media company called ProSiebenSat who would have been in charge of all things support wiser in Europe, meaning later patches etc.. It also meant players would be put on a EU server with the best ping and I would not be able to play with you colonials. Luckily there was a huge outcry and now "SOE and ProSieben worked throughout the weekend to develop a plan that will allow our players to access and play on any server regardless of where they are in the world.

Our community is our top priority and rest assured, all of your concerns have been heard. We continue to work together with ProSieben and appreciate your patience as we work around the clock to work out critical technical details. We will share more information as soon as possible. "

They better. I just want the beta now please. My new fear is this German company have a REALLY bad rep with peoples data, privacy, financial info and so on.

                      Anyway:

Don't think this has been asked, but wasn't an option in PS1. Do you know any mmo that lets your be in more than one guild at a time?
