  • The Specialization Thread

    I thought it would be interesting to know what everyone is mainly spending their certs on to get an overview of what people can do effectively.

    Personally I'm putting most of my points in the liberator and vanguard, along with some in heavy assault.

    What is everyone else specializing in?

    For infantry I'm setting up medic and infiltrator and for my armour I'm making an anti infantry lightning and a anti armour vanguard. But I may pickup a sky guard as well for my lightning.

      Infantry - Squad leader Engineer and HA, with a dash of Medic
      Armour - Pimped Vanguard that already has armour and shields, need the pure AP turret and the TOW launcher that can be either pure AT or AI, or a combination, also considering a Skyguard Lightning.
      Air - Back burner until I get the above, but I want a ground support Reaver and a big 150mm Lib.

      Already have my Sundy set up with both AMS and vehicle Ammo.

          Currently working towards HA with guided AT. I'm still overwhelmed by the whole game.

            My plan:
            AMS Sundy
            Medic/Engineer/HA Weapon Upgrade + Optic
            Engineer/Medic Tool Upgrade Level 2-3
            Nanoweave Armor Level 3/4 (current rumor mill on other forums says around this level you can survive 1-2 more bullets)
            Sundy Blockade Armor
            HA AA Rocket Launcher
            Sundy Ammo Resupply (if they do a hotfix where it actually provides exp)
            Vanguard Weap Upgrades or Galaxy Upgrades pending game changes (Galaxy spawn etc)

              That sounds a like a great plan to compliment my Engineer Build! Good stuff ....

                    After AMS went straight for the revive grenade. Now the XP just rolls in...most so far is 7 revives with one grenade.

                          For me, as far as armor goes, it is the lightning. I simply cant handle the unwieldiness of the vanguard, and with my AP cannon I can take on MBT's and come out on top as long as I use the lightning's strengths (speed, which = flanking ability) instead of standing still and having a duel. I went ahead and certed my sunday for AMS because I feel thats something everyone should be able to do if needed, even though I dont intend on upgrading it beyond that.

                          I wasn't planning to do much as far as air goes, but for the double SC day, I caved and bought A2A missiles for my reaver, and absolutely love it, so I may end up putting more into that.

                          Still torn on what to do with my infantry. Probably heavy assault and medic. I love infiltrator, but I think it works really well with it's default setup, not much to upgrade there.

                          Btw, dont forget certing your leadership tree!

                            as of now im falling in love with the vanguard, i plan on maxing that baby out (i already
                            have the shield) :D

                            For infantry im trying to run medic when not using armor, but can swap to any position as needed, decent at most of them
                            and im planning to not put money into this game (but its so good i might to support devs) so ill be at these for quite a while :)
