Okay I'm confused so that's a VS heavy that can get cloaked by an enemy (TR) sunderer. Is that intentional or are they gonna remove that?
As for what can we do with this I suppose long-range AT squads can use this feature when we all just hide under the bubble of invisibility and when a tank shows up we all jump out and launcher it to death which can be pretty funny to watch.
Beyond the basic ability of hiding a spawn point and making them harder to sweep via armour or air, the obvious utility is, as others have pointed out, ambushes and hiding squads. It might also be a reasonable way to cover a squad caught in the open, though the Sunderer will be an obvious target if it's seen deploying for that.
I'd be interested in running mechanized infantry with the Sunderer as an IFV. Aside from the obvious utility of a battle bus and spawn point with an infantry escort, that invisibility on demand could allow excellent opportunities for ambush.
It's also worth mentioning that this could make for an EXTREMELY strong firing position in that the automatic cloak will serve as a pretty decent antidote to enemy suppression or sniper fire. An infiltrator, for instance, could loiter FOREVER in a cloaking field without using up their cloak supply, allowing them to wait out an enemy sniper and never reveal themselves without also taking a shot. Similarly, infantry firing from the cloak field can stop firing and hunker for a short time to find themselves invisible and largely immune to suppressive fire.
When this lands we should try and figure out if it's viable to park the Sunderer in a hull-down position and then still have the cloaking field extend far enough to make a firing position out of a hill.
The one rub with using these Sunderers is that it seems you need to deploy to activate the cloak. This means that we wont be able to control who is spawning here and our mission security would be hindered by random acts of blueberries. Do vehicles gain the cloak effect in the bubble? Could a lightning fit inside?
No person can simply just be; they are what they do.
Vehicles don't get it, and if I've read correctly there's also a hard limit on visibility (60m or thereabouts) while inside the bubble. This somewhat limits the utility of it, but its still a very powerful tool.
Yeah, blues spawning on it could be trouble. Would be nice to be able to limit it to prevent exposure.
