  • [EVENT] Working with PHX

    Fellow TG,

We have been asked by our friends in PHX to start building some positive relations for future squad leader training in their ranks. Towards this goal we are working a few Joint Operations with PHX in the coming weeks! To start our first one is on Wed, May 3rd, I know it's a weekday and we have some High Paced action on other days but if possible I'd love to see some friendly faces and firepower, we will be working in two separate platoons in Synchronized efforts on targets. We are looking to achieve at least two good squads and I'd love to have some SL's willing to help with this goal. The set start time is 8Pm EST, and if your interested in working or listening to the higher chains coordinate these efforts we have TeamSpeak with them Vanadium.Typefrag.com:19030 Password:ashes

Any questions of volunteering please post so we have an idea who to be looking for. Thanks for your support!

    Sounds good.
I will rush home after work.
    Likely arrive around 8:30-8:45pm.
The question foremost in my mind is "what will bring the most tactical fun to the server?"

Excellent! I will be there for this, But only as a member at this time. For a joint OP I would rather a CPL take the SL position for this, as I'm still working on it, and I would want to provide the best impression that TG can offer. Looking forward to it!

I am up for l participating. Are we planning on having PHX and TG intermixed in the two platoons? I would hope so if the effort is to show how we run.

As I understand it the plan is for coordination but not intermingling of platoons yet.
That will come later if this works well and there is interest.

Okay. Should any of our SLs be on a bit early to be briefed on any comms changes or will the coordination happen between PLs and SLs have no change?

I am not sure on that. I would suggest more pre-meeting rather than less to make sure there is no confusion about anything on day of. GeneralCain was the man who set it up, so he would have a better sense of the arrangements than I.

                      TG/PHX Co-Op AAR
                      Continent: Esamir
Warp Gate Setup: Southern - NC Northwestern - VS Eastern - TR

                      TG PL - UltimateMuffinMan ---------- PHX PL - Deery50
Alpha SL - StarStriker --- Tasking: Infantry
Bravo SL - TheFatz --- Tasking: Air which then transitioned into Light Armor.

At the start of the operation, coordination was a bit shaky on my part with the PHX lead. The base we started on was Nott Research Camp. PHX had a hold started up and TG came in to reinforce. As we were dropped in at door 1 on the powerhouse the enemy had already pushed heavily on A point and were also making a flank to get up fat and skinny stairs. TG cleaned up the stairs, allowing PHX to hold the A point from the zerg trying to push in. TG bounced back and forth between A and the stairs as the tides of the battle changed. Eventually we had the base under our control. After this base cap some bad choices on my part were made as for our option of transport. I called a galaxy when the area was clearly filled with AA, however in the interest of time I thought it would be our best option. Once the Galaxy was shot down I loaded squad up to move out to Pale Canyon Chemical. This is the point where Fatz took Bravo to start air operations and Starstriker took the Alpha lead, leaving me to PL.

Pale Canyon Chemical was a great fight, TG arrived and started the base cap with an assortment of blueberries while PHX tried a base cap at Eisa Southern Camp. Alpha took a position on the northern triple while the blues took the southern. The base got over populated slightly and the blues lost control of the southern triple. Alpha held ground on the northern triple, not being able to flip the A point but keeping the fight alive. At this point PHX had lost their fight on Eisa Southern and I called them in for reinforcement. PHX galaxy dropped the point, during which Alpha took full advantage of the chaos to dismantle any VS that were pestering the A point or the northern triple. From here the base was a solid fight to the end with NC coming in on top. Props to Bravo saving the only sunderer we had on the base as well a few times, without the sunderer the base would have been impossible.

From Pale Canyon there was a combined move of PHX and TG to clear Watersons Redemption and then capture Eisa Southern. Between these two fights I cannot recall much other than Alpha losing their galaxy on route to Watersons, from which StarStriker made a nice recovery and moved his squad to Eisa Southern. Eisa Southern ended up not going through.

If memory serves me correct we changed our focus to the western end of Esamir for a decent amount of time. VS had just captured Andvari South and were making moves to push Jaegers Fist. PHX at that time were only able to be sunderer mobile, so TG was tasked with halting any armor push from Andvari South to Jaegers. Alpha and Bravo made a wonderful effect on the area. From what I saw via the map, Alpha was destroying anything that went direct south from Andvari South and anything attempting to spin off to the northeast Bravo was cleaning up, not to mention Bravo being in near non-stop dogfights while on the VS front. PHX arrived via their sunderers, where they used them to assist taking out the armor on Andvari South and then moving to Andvari Frozen for a base capture. TG continued a push into Andvari South in an effort to hold any VS population in the hex while PHX hit the biolab from Frozen. This maneuver worked excellently, while a platoon of VS were at the South Bank, PHX took the Biolab nearly unimpeded.

South Bank was on the clock under full blue control ( VS just left once they realized the biolab had been capped behind them) So Alpha was picked up via galaxy and moved into Andvari Barracks. The triple stack was the drop point of Alpha and their task was to hold whatever VS population in the hex until sunderer support, provided by PHX, had arrived. Upon sunderer arrival, TG and PHX pushed the A and held for a full base capture. I don't remember this fight being very close at all. After capture TG and PHX did a very similar motion for Snowshear to move TG in via galaxy to draw population away from pulling armor and PHX move sunderer support up. Alphas galaxy shot down halfway to Snowshear Watchtower, however Starstriker kept a move going to the C point of the base and Bravo provided air cover for the Alpha guys running in the open. Snowshear was a tough fight, we had two of the three points but it never got past that. Props to Alpha for holding the C point alone for the majority of the base.

Due to me having a bad memory, I don't recall really what happened after this fight until the last half hour or so of the ops. So if anyone would like to fill in here feel free :D (Except for one moment where some squad coordination really impressed me, Alpha was on the west side of nott research camp, and I had brought up a sunderer to provide them transport for a fast move I wanted them to make. I called to Bravo which was configured in all harassers to provide escort to the sunderer. In a moment where I wasn't in my map screen I remember looking out over the riverbed south of Nott research, seeing 3 TR lightnings, each with a harrasser on their tail, being taken out and then the Alpha sunderer moving out a heck of a lot safer. Props to bravo for that good show.)

Anyways going into the end of the operation, which was defiantly the best part of the night for me as the PL. We were close on victory points to winning, of course our enemies realized this. NC was getting double teamed hard. We had attacks on most fronts as well as a platoon of VS attacking two 100% hives we had. PHX opted to go for a tech plant attack to draw the platoon of VS out of our territory and to defend their techplant. TG split its two squads, Alpha kitted for long range anti-vehicle and went in route to Frostfall Overlook (the location of our two 100% hives) and Bravo was sent north into TR territory to destroy a hive. PHX made a call that the Tech plant was no longer their goal, but the hive north of it was. Alpha made a great impact on defending the hives, we lost one but the last one would have gone aswell had we not shown up. Bravo accomplished their objective as well, unfortunately I wasn't there to see it however, it looked like it was a tough fight. PHX called in their objective was also destroyed, this gave us back 2 VP's for having the most hives which placed us at 19 total VP's with the need to only capture one more territory to gain the final VP. PHX opted for a defense role on the VS front and TG's Alpha ended up at Nott research camp. The fight when we got to Nott was not going well. TR had the powerhouse and NC was outside. The situation made even more grim with the radio personality "RadioFreeAuraxis" commentating on the poor state the fight was in. However, Starstriker got on some proximity comms and began to coordinate a successful push up into the powerhouse. Star coordinated a second push to get TR off of the double doors and create a buffer. TR counter pushed and NC had again been backed into the A. Star coordinated a final blue push out of doubles which I must say, had me worried at how close it was. However, the base capped to NC's delight, with a grand TG tag on the base.

A great ops with our friends over at PHX! Thank you all to who attended! Special thanks to TheFatz and StarStriker for leading awesome squads! You guys made the PLing easy on my end!

Update: We are asked to go ahead and try another Synchronized Operation with PHX on May 31st. Sorry for the short notice, I've been occupied in the real world. We will be looking for more SL's and a PL as I can't promise anything until all this settles if you could post here with your interest in any of these positions so others will know who to link up with, Also we have a Joint Operation Discord setup with PHX, please make sure your setup for push-to-talk on it.
