As much as I might want to buy some construction items, I am not sure that I want to support Daybreak any longer financially. I have become pretty cynical of their business model and constant dumbing down and removing of fun from the game.

At any rate, thanks Heleana for the heads up.

Randy - I understand your stance on this. I still play a lot and am personally okay with supporting them a little. I haven't dropped any large sums recently however.

Everyone - I made a chart below that shows the name of a Construction item, the price, discount, bundle, and in my opinion most importantly the cost in DBG per Cert. A low value in the last column marks something that I may purchase in DBG while a high value means I may buy it with Certs. For example the Spear AV turret is 270 DBG while the Orbital Strike is 810. There may be some typos so double check before purchasing anything.

Yeah I play a lot less than I used to. Mainly for reasons already stated. Nowadays I mostly get on (when I do) to see you guys. But I suppose if noone ever supported the game, there would be no game. So I'm not hardcore campaigning against them, or telling other people not to spend their own hard earned money. It's up to each person of course. There was a time back when I played a lot that I supported them financially as well, including a 6 month membership, plus SoE cash (or whatever it was called back then).

At any rate, thanks for taking the time to post the list and analysis.

Having said all of that, base building *did* add some new meta to the game, it added a strategic element back into it that was taken out when they implemented the lettuce system. Furthermore, small groups can now also affect the strategic level picture (map locking) by either building and/or assaulting player made bases and refining cortium for VP. Plus it adds a fun Minecraft / sandbox / building element to the game. So I suppose I should applaud them for that. Maybe I will buy some base items after all, I think I just talked myself into it.
