  • Flanking on INDAR: Gravel Pass to Broken Arch (Latice Restricted)

    INDAR

The following documents a simple but effective method of breaking through an overwhelming enemy force at Broken Arch Road.

My platoon (4 squads) was unable to break through from north Tawrich Tech Plant to the enemy's entrenched position at Broken Arch Road.

Note that the enemy also held the top of cliffs on the right and left flank.

The image below shows the platoon assaulting Regent Rock Garrison on the left flank. Note the significant number of allied vehicles -- all of which would be quickly destroyed by enemy fire.

Once most of the platoon had regrouped, another GROUPUP was called at the trail head. Troops were order to default to infantry, Harassers were permitted.

The command AMS-AMMO Sunderer was moved 3/4 up the hill and deployed.

The order was given to NOT go over the ridge and to maintain concealment. Fire code was Yellow.

Note that you must repeat the order a number of times -- the less disciplined men will try to get a peak over the ridge.

    Nice flank E-Male.

I think you demonstrate an important fact here about the lattice system: you don't have to advance along the lines drawn on the lattice. Yes, you have to capture that base before capping the base beyond it, however you do not necessarily have to bring your axis of attack along the lattice line. Smart people will understand this, the mouth breathers will just plod straight ahead on the lattice lines (usually into massed enemies). This was, IMHO, the only thing the lattice system had going for it. Jury, however, is still out...

Similarly, holding the high ground (as Al pointed out in his recent post) will also become even more important now.
