  • Stuttering

Not sure what happened, everything was fine last weekend. I get on yesterday to try and play and I get constant stuttering. Every about 1.5 seconds everything seems to lock up for a very short time. Its barely perceptible, when I say that I mean if it wasn't happening every other second you probable wouldn't notice the freezing.

I know last night for FnF the server had a serious break down.

Now there's an understatement if ever I saw one. It wasn't a serious breakdown, it was a total failure on so many levels I couldn't keep track of all the failure.

This was earlier in the morning and has continued on till Sunday, So I don't think that's it.

Hey John, got to ask the obvious stuff. Checked for GPU driver updates? Are you running an SLI configuration? I've seen stuttering sort of like that in some SLI setups (cough-crossfire-cough).

Updated just now, same issue. Just running one GPU.

What about other games? BF3? Maybe do a file check of PS2. Last resort, re-install PS2, and completely remove GPU/Drivers, re-install GPU and drivers.

www.drivercleaner.net I think they charge for this now though, $9.99.

BF3 can hang in a fiery pit of hell!!!! Rant aside, none of the other games I play regularly have the same issue, but none are quite so taxing as PS2. I'd hate to do a reinstall, because like I stated before this issue appeared with one of the latest hotfixes/patches. I think it has little to do with my end, but at this point I'll give it a go. Thanks for the link I'll check it out.

Have you tried deleting your UserOptions.ini file and letting the game re-create it for you?

I would validate game assets before doing a reinstall. So time consuming.

Well I deleted the wrong thing, got very pissed off and went ahead and decided to do a full reformat and reinstall windows 7 from my old hard drive to the ssd. This has been something I had planned to do but have been putting it off. So thank you all for the help, I should be back up and running in a day or two. If the problem still persist I'll let you know.

                        Re: Stuttering

I had my primary SATA drive crash last week so took the opportunity to move to an SSD for a primary drive. Man what a difference in loading times and smoothness of Windows and PS2 gameplay.
