  • A.S.A.P Forming Star Citizen Corps

Guys, if we are going to form a corps or an organization in Star Citizen, we need to get a name down as soon as possible. We can work out the details later, but it is important to get the name registered.

I am going to form one, just I need to know the business model and the name.

Got questions, ask. Got ideas, say them. We cannot idle...

Read here on the information concerning organizations: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/c...-Organizations

This must be done because it will be taken into account for the January update. We must get it in.

and for the names I am forgetting, sorry.

Anyways, I am certain it would be a good idea to keep two different groups. One for a business and trade, while the other is more semi-legal.

Grimmfist and Fyah were joking that it should be called Siege Industries and another was The Corporation.

    We could always do this:

I don't know that there's any reason to rush into this. What do we gain from doing this now as opposed to post-release?

Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't TG guilds generally set up by the site administrators?

With the Persistent Universe Alpha at least a year away we've got plenty of time to gauge TG interest. Many are not willing to commit to an unproven game this early in development. If it were up to me (and it most definitely isn't) I'd say hold off for 8-10 months at least, host some polls and see what path most TG are interested in pursuing so we can determine what sort of organization to raise. It might be even better to hold off at least until there's been some persistent universe alpha testing so we can get a feel for how orgs function and can test out what roles we like the most. Cool your jets, there's no deadline!

I was thinking about this last night, i think the semi legal one would be funny/interesting to do as a religious organization where taking from others is seen as a necessary part of the religion.

I still like the name for this group as The Five Ghosts.

the benefit is that it would make our group unique and separate us from the simple pirates and mercs, it adds to the creep factor(which IMHO makes people more likely to hand things over that they may have decided was worth fighting for) provides a fun role playing aspect to it. When people start to dislike us we can complain about religious discrimination :D

I plan on continuing to work on this from now and the weekend. The person I talked to earlier tonight was very adamant that we get on this quickly because a recruitment page and some recruits are required to be recognized as an official organization...

I was thinking "The Ghosts of Earth"

Also, do you guys want to get on during the weekend so we can get everything squared away?

As for an official TG guild, it might be hard to pull off since it seems like there is more of a split between a radical side and a business side. It might be best to keep the pulled apart as we wish to allow the business side to remain free of any major harm or problems aimed towards the more radical aspect.

Maybe the TG guild should be the business while the radical element should be something else but related...

How about The Mullet. You know, business in the front, party in the back. lol

But seriously though, I do like this idea:

Most importantly, my pre-conscious mind will now be fomenting on this. Perhaps in a few more days, I might come up with a good suggestion of my own.

What do you mean by this? Are organizations intended to be implemented for the social aspects of the hangar when they come out?

Are they intending to implement organizations for team selection in the dogfighting module? That's been pushed back to March has it not?

Help me understand, I don't get the rush.

I believe this is for an update that will create official organizations that would possibly become part of the game at launch. From everything that I gather, the lore building in the community will influence the overall design of the "lore"/ history/ environment in the game... Not totally certain as mostly what I have said is from the mouth of a moderator.

                  Hello!

Right now the best way to make your organization Official is to make a recruitment thread in the Organization sub-forum. I highly recommend you do this ASAP, because the Devs will be using recruitment threads to verify who has rights to the names of an Organization. Specifically for this update coming in Jan. https://robertsspaceindustries.com/c...-Organizations

                  Hope this helps! :)

Re: A.S.A.P Forming Star Citizen Corps

I'm aware of name-taking, if you're concerned about someone "stealing" the Tactical Gamer moniker, they've stated that they have zero tolerance for copycat/parody organizations. If it were to happen (although I'm thinking that's unlikely) we could raise the issue with CIG and get it taken down.

Have you talked to Apo and co. about starting a TG-branded organization?

This will need to be addressed with the administration as well. Who is the MMO officer?

I am kinda stumped on this game. can you create an "guild" and it HAS TO be a certain thing, for example you choose to be a business group so you can do any A2A fights? Of course that is a "What if?" situation, I have no knowledge what classes and things there are in this game.

Little confused on what A2A means and the "What if" situations you are refering to.

If you mean, can a business group perform combat runs, well, I don't see it impossible or problematic as long as it does causes that group to get a bad reputation or become a target.

Thats what I mean, and A2A is Air 2 Air, so basically dogfighting.

In freelancer, A2A could be done while trading, but it was hard with cargo ships. It was often left to those who did escort...

Maybe it would be better for TG to make a guild and allow members to form organizations, if that is possible. I still don't quite understand everything...
