  • [INFO] New Ship: Endeavor

To all interested parties, the large multicrew research and exploration vessile known as the Endeavor is out. This ship has many options and configurations and can operate as a mobile base

This is very important for when the game comes out:
The Endeavor allows for space craft launch bays and other important bays. Apparently, you can have multiple cutlasses if you have a landing bay.

There are unexpected features that are reminiscent of the Enterprise's separation sequence. The ship can separate to form into multiple stages. Consider this as a chance for a mobile exploration base. The first stage can fly around while
leaving the middle module section and rear drive module in place in space.

For the majority of us, we will wait for the game to come out

There is a whole another article about some of the gameplay mechanics behind some of these modules (farming, spawning at hospital, etc.). An interesting read, especially for those non combat oriented types.

And another great lore article on the Polo initiative; where they took actual votes from the IRL community, and folded them into the developing lore of the game! Things like this are why I love SC!

I dunno about you guys, but I think I am most looking forward to the Persistent Universe.

Too bad that's going to be like the last thing they get done with... lol

Squadron 42 will be a good hold over though, Randy. Still waiting for that, too.

This creates a whole new dimension to the game....yet again. This is really cool.

It'll be interesting to see if left behind modules will be destroyed by pirates and such, so you might need a squad of ships defending each module, or maybe just a cutlass. Definitely an interesting development.

well, the first module doesn't have a jump drive, so that might be difficult if things go bad. But seriously, how does the bio dome work? I get the med bays. Do we need to eat in space, too?

Ugh, $350 just for the base ship. Then another $75+ blah blah if I want other modules. I'm gonna wait to buy it in-game instead.

I am thinking this ship would more play a role in a larger fleet, or at minimum, fly with one (or several) escorts (depending on how risky the area).

I am really interested to see how all these various game dynamics will play out in the PU. That's what I'm really waiting for, see which one(s) are most profitable (and/or fun, and/or suiting my/our talents) and worth it in terms of ROI on in game money, and then invest my money in that direction. Just like in real life, I guess. lol

                      Re: New Ship: Endeavor

I am thinking that the Hope variant will allow for the stowing of 2 or 3 Hornets. The dimensions of the hangar bay is large enough for a Connie to be inside, but we don't know if the ship's hangar will be too cramped with decontamination areas or not.

If things go bad, we can always have a repair ship fix things.

I'm excited to finally hear them mention overclocking in the game. Might be worth buying the ship just for that (if you're part of a larger org).

Also, off topic, with my 3rd tweet ever I got myself banned from Derek Smart's twitter account. Might have been a troll tweet, but the jerk deserves it. Derek Smart: "It's worse than that. Ask him where the money went. Silence. " me: "Better question: Where did all the money for your latest "game" go? Cause it wasn't into development." InstaBan. lol

Did you see the post from Chris Roberts recently?

Now I know where you went. Congrats, but not shocked that he would ban you.

I know somebody getting an endeavor, but I think he's going to do his own thing for a while.
